The reformation brought about a new freedom of thought among the scientific community, and with the invention of the printing press ideas could be circulated much more freely. Christians sought revelation from God as to the workings of his universe, "thinking God's thoughts after him". The scientific method was devised to accurately determine the truth in scientific inquiry. Modern day science and technology owes nothing to the theory of evolution, since it originated later, rather, evolution theory is a step backward for the integrity of scientific study because its proponents insist that it be dogmatically believed, without question, in the absence of proper testing. A brief history of each of the major founders of modern science is presented, including a description of their individual contributions to the betterment of mankind.

Our efforts to make God's glorious work known should not only be for a few in our local community, but for all people that God has created. This is the topic of the October DSA meeting as Dr. Vern Bissell discusses 'The Biblical Basis of Creation in Missions.'

From many source scriptures, Vern points out that many of the same scriptures which are taken to be Biblical authority for missions also contain God's clear identification of Himself as Creator. Bottom line: creation is inseparable from the Gospel in missions! Creation and creation evangelism should be a part of every missionary's message, because it's the message of God himself.

John Hergenrather tells of his long and patient struggle to move toward balance in the science curriculum within his local school district. His hope is that others may learn from his somewhat successful attempts. He maintains that "just knowing what is legally and scientifically true is only part of the equation"-that this is also truly a spiritual battle and we must use the spiritual weapons God has given us.

Modern day computers require an extremely high level of intelligence and information in their design and operation to make them function. Living things require a much greater amount of information than computers in order for them to operate. Is it reasonable to think that they were not also designed by some great intelligence?

Arguments against evolution, such as contained in the books Darwin’s Black Box by Michael J. Behe and Darwin on Trial by Philip E. Johnson, are receiving much attention in the creationist camp. These are excellent arguments in favor of intelligent design but they leave the Bible out. If one succeeds in convincing a person that evolution is wrong, but does not fill the void created, with God's Word, what will take its place?

Fallacies and impossibilities of the movie "Jurassic Park" are discussed and Rick talks about how he travels to eastern Europe with the creation message as a foundation to the message of salvation through Christ.

The Biblical Answer to Racism, a subject that DSA has dealt with at a previous meeting, is important enough to consider again!
